Step 4: The Option Period

This is the fourth of seven videos taking you step by step through the home buying process. In this video, I explain The Option Period. When you go under contract on a home, your Realtor® will negotiate into the contract your option (for a small fee) to walk away from the home for any reason within a certain number of days. This is the time to have the home inspected and really make sure that it’s the right home for you! This gives you time to look into repairs that the home may need and consider if they are things that you might be ok with, you may want to have the seller pay for (or correct) or, possibly give you reason to walk away from the home all together.
