APPLE CRUMBLE RECIPE
6 Granny Smith Apples
1 Lemon (juiced)
1 Cup of Granulated Sugar
1 Cup and 1 Tablespoon of Flour
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon (divided)
Dash of Kosher Salt
Dash of Fresh or Ground Nutmeg
1 Cup of Old Fashion or Quick Oats (not instant)
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
0.5 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
0.75 cup (1.5 sticks) of Melted Butter
Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Peel, cut and core the apples.
Combine apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, dash of Kosher salt and a dash of nutmeg in a bowl. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, oats, brown sugar, baking powder and melted butter. Mix well.
Pour the apple mixture in a 9x13 baking dish.
Layer the crumble mixture on top of the apple mixture.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the crumble topping is a golden brown and the apple mixture is slightly bubbling.
